How Smart Scout Manager uses Google Calendar
Smart Scout Manager is a platform for running scout troops: member records, the annual program, activities, finance and reports. Connecting Google Calendar is one optional feature.
What it does
On the Annual Program page a leader clicks “Instant Sync with Google Calendar”, and the troop’s occasions and activities (name, date, short description) are added as all-day events to a separate “Smart Scout Manager” calendar created for the troop in their account. Syncing again updates the same events instead of duplicating them.
The narrowest permission
We request the calendar.app.created scope only when that button is clicked. It covers only the calendar we create — it cannot see, change or delete your other calendars or events.
Your data stays yours
The access token stays in your browser and is never sent to our servers. We do not store, share, sell or use your calendar data for advertising or AI training. You can revoke access at any time in your Google Account.

Smart Scout Manager’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
